The video text overlay unit is designed to overlay sample and programmer information onto a video signal from a camera mounted on the microscope. A record of the entire experiment can be recorded by attaching a video recorder (VCR) to the VTO232 for indexing and sample analysis at a later date.
Up to five separate microscope lenses can be calibrated using a supplied 'mouse' and on screen icons. Using this calibration measurements such as distance, angles and areas can be made and displayed on screen. A highlighter can be used to show areas of interest and annotate the image. A scale bar is also shown to enable perception of sample size.
The display icons can be independently selected or turned off altogether, they can be displayed in black or white or inlayed in a box in order to get a viewable contrast with the sample background.
The VTO232 can also be used as a standalone unit, working independently of Linkam controllers.
