Recommended Objective Lenses
Working distance is the vertical distance from the sample or where used the coverslip on top of the sample to the front lens of the objective. (see diagram below) At the bottom of the page are links to our recommended lens.
Hotstages require long working distance lenses because the sample is isolated from the lens by the hotstage chamber. In order to view samples in focus on a temperature controlled stage you need objective lenses with a working distance of at least 4.5mm.
