liquid crystal pro system
Features and Benefits
This system provides a turnkey solution for liquid crystal research scientists looking for the unrivalled temperature stability and control.
Electrical connectors within the sample chamber of the LTSE350 enable the user to make electrical measurements on the sample while controlling the temperature inside a gas tight environment. The sample chamber can be further controlled in terms of humidity, slight vacuum or inert gas via the gas ports on the sides of the stage.
The stage consists of a large area temperature controlled element with a platinum resistor sensor embedded close to the surface for accurate temperature measurements. The sample is simply mounted on a standard microscope slide in direct contact with the polished heating element and can be manipulated 15mm in X and Y direction.
To minimise the temperature gradient across the sample, the light aperture in the block is only 2.5mmØ
Microscope Polarizing Table
There is also a clamp available so that the LTSE350 can be mounted to the polarizing table of the BX51 polarizing microscope. This clamp does not require any drilling of your microscope table as seen with other systems and is easily mounted with thumbscrews, you will still be able to use the rotation of the stage.
By utilising the LNP94/2 cooling option it is possible to reach temperatures as low as -196C with no condensation of moisture obscurring the sample image or fogging the windows in the lid or base.
The temperature is programmed by the standalone TMS94 temperature progammer. Sophisticated temperature profiles of up to 32 ramps can be set up with ranges of heating rates from 0.1C/min to 30C/min.
The TMS94 can be used as a standalone programmer or connected via RS232 to PC enabling use of further features within the Linksys 32 software.
TMS94 firmware can be updated via email using the RS232 connection.
The LTSE350 stage can be substituted for the THMSE600 stage in this system package if higher temperatures, faster rates of temperature control are needed. See LTS, THMS comparison table
In order to get highly resolved images with a heating stage, you will need a condenser extension lens, this is especially necessary when using a rotary polarizing table.
