Counter Rotating CSS450 prototype
The CSS450 has always been an excellent instrument for visualizing the effects of shear stress on samples using light microscopy, however, it has been dificult to capture images of the fast moving sample as it passes through the field of view. Linkam have now developed a CSS450 optical shearing stage with a counter rotating top plate mounted in the lid.
Now that the quartz windows in the lid and base are turning in opposite directions it is possible to view sample morphology in the field of view and actually visualize droplet break up and bubble deformation.
Contact Linkam for upgrade of existing CSS450 or purchase of new counter rotating CSS450.
Please note, this system will only fit on Linkam's new Imaging Station.

To facilitate the easy loading of samples in stages such as the TST350 Tensile stage and CSS450 Optical shearing stage, linkam has developed an imaging platform that enables the user to easily access the sample chamber by tilting the lens and camera out of the way. Standard high resolution long working distance objectives can still be used and a standard microscope 100W light source is utilized for routine brightfield microscopy. A 10X phase ring is built into the long working distance condenser and both polarizer and analyzer are included.
A standard C-mount camera can be mounted ontop of the imaging head unit which has been designed so that no lenses are required to gain maximum field of view on a 1/2" CCD.

Microscope Ultrasound Stage
Developed in collaboration with Dr. Rachel Chow and Renoo Blindt at Unilever Research, Colworth, this ultrasonic stage can be used to investigate the sonocrystallisation of ice at a microscopic level. Both the gap and frequency can be accurately controlled.

Multi Probe LTS350 Stage
Developed for investigating semiconductor chips, this multi probe LTS has a temperature range from -196 to 350C and has is sealed gas tight with gas valves to control sample environment.
The probes can be moved into precise positions on the magnetic base and can also be accurately adjusted in Z position. Up to 8 probes can be used simultaneously.
This system is now available as a standard item, see Analysa Probe System

New incubator cell biology stages designed so that short working distance, high NA optics can be used. Sample temperature is controlled by precisely measuring the temperature media surrounding it in either a petri dish, microscope slide or 96 well plate. The atmospheric temperature inside the incubator is then controlledrelative to the measured sample temperture thereby ensuring extrememly accurate temperature of the cells rather than just the container they are in.
The Incubatrix range will include temperature controlled air baths from ambient to 40°C for 35mm petri dishes, microscope slides, and well plates.
Up to 5 separately prepared samples will be kept at a specified temperature in a small portable incubator built into the top of the controller . Samples can then be quickly transferred to the observation chamber with minimal temperature loss.
We are also developing CO2 and humidity control for the range of Incubatrix stages.
