The Effect of Temperature and Shear Flow on the Nucleation Rate of Spherulites in Isotactic Polypropylene

The study of polymer crystallisation enhanced by flow has attracted much interest because it implies the possibility of controlling the final morphology and the resulting mechanical and functional properties of semicrystalline polymers. This study investigates how changing temperature and shear flow conditions can influence the crystallisation kinetics in polymeric samples, detailing the experimental conditions and results for flow-enhanced crystallisation of isotactic polypropylene.
